Our Guide to Common Queries

1. How do I enroll in a course?

You can enroll in a course by registering online after creating an account with us. If you prefer, you can also email us or call using the contact information listed at the bottom of our website.

RCG Health and Safety Training offers a wide range of courses, including environmental, construction, safety, and personal‑empowerment classes. All courses are designed to comply with federal and New York State regulations. You can visit our Courses page to explore the full list and choose the class you need to stay compliant and maintain employment.

Our courses are not academic or college‑accredited programs. However, many of our classes are recognized by colleges and can be applied toward construction, environmental, and safety‑related career paths. All of our training aligns with OSHA regulations for construction and general industry, as well as US EPA and NYC Department of Buildings requirements. Our programs are designed to help you stay compliant with current regulations and keep your certificates and licenses up to date.

We understand that construction schedules can be demanding. That’s why RCG Health and Safety Training offers flexible learning options. Our in‑person classes run from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Saturday. For workers with busy or unpredictable schedules, we also offer online courses that you can complete at your own pace. This allows you to choose the hours that work best for you while keeping your certifications current.

Technical requirements vary depending on the type of course. For most initial worker classes, there are little to no technical requirements because all training is provided in our classroom and through hands‑on instruction with experienced field instructors. Supervisor‑level courses, on the other hand, do require prior experience in order to enroll in both initial and refresher supervisor trainings.

Yes. Our instructors come from environmental and construction backgrounds and bring years of real‑world experience to the classroom. They are dedicated to preparing every student for success, both during training and afterward. When you join RCG Health and Safety Training, you’re not just a student — you become part of our community. We value our students and continue to support you whenever you need guidance or assistance.

Yes. Many course‑related materials can be accessed offline. For construction and general industry courses, much of the reference material comes from OSHA standards (29 CFR 1926 and 29 CFR 1910), which you can download and review anytime. For lead‑related training, certain materials are available through the US EPA website and can also be accessed offline once downloaded.

RCG Health and Safety Training understands that the construction industry can be unpredictable and that emergencies can happen. We normally ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations in order to receive a full refund. However, if a situation arises after the class has already started, we will do our best to accommodate you by placing you in the next available session—depending on the course schedule and the time frame required to stay in compliance.

For most courses, there are no additional costs beyond the class fee. You will receive a course‑completion certificate that allows you to work and remain in compliance. However, for certain programs—such as Lead, Asbestos, or FDNY‑related trainings—you may need to apply for city, state, or federal certifications after completing the class. These agencies may charge separate application or licensing fees.

After completing a course, you will receive a certificate of completion that allows you to continue working and remain in compliance with city, state, or federal regulations for most programs. For certain specialized courses, you may need to apply for additional certifications through the appropriate agencies. Completing your training also prepares you to qualify for new job opportunities and maintain your current position. Just remember to take your required refresher courses on time so your certifications stay current—this helps you avoid having to repeat full initial trainings, saving you time, money, and work hours.
